Harold D. Beech, 78, of Scott, died at 6:52 p.m., Friday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. He was born on September 3, 1034 in Scott, the son of the late Earl Forest and Emma Bernice (Waller) Beech. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Metra Ross and Donna Foust and a brother, Marlowe Beech. Family survivors include his four sons, Merritt, Matthew (and wife Sara), Mitch, and Mark Beech all of Scott; three grandchildren, Kyle, Emily and Mace Beech; four step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. Harold was a Korean War veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a life member and past commander of V.F.W. Post 2873 of Grover Hill. He retired from Zolner Piston Corporation in Fort Wayne. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Military rites will follow conducted by V.F.W. Post 2873. Preferred memorials are to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.
