Obituary

Gordon T. Morgan, 90 of Van Wert, died at 12:13 a.m., Wednesday at the Van Wert County Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1926, in Wetzel, the son of the late Evan Telford and Edith (McGinnis) Morgan. On October 12, 1947, he married the former Charlotte Eloise Black at the First United Methodist Church in Van Wert. She passed away on April 16, 2014. Survivors include his son, T. "Kim" Morgan; one brother, Roger Morgan of Manchester, Connecticut; two sisters, Marilyn Butler of Van Wert and Janice (Michael )Spray of Van Wert; one step brother, Rolland (Carolyn) Custer of Florida; one step sister, Lois (Franklin) Clutter of Rockford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a 1944 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Gordon had worked in contracting and at Carter Lumber Company and VanCrest Health Care Center both in Van Wert. There will be a grave side service at 11 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2016, at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Salem Presbyterian Church.
