Obituary

Glenn Eugene Fackler, 74, of Tully Township, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Wednesday at VanCrest of Convoy. He was born on February 19, 1940, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Leo Fackler and Grace Marie (Mosier) Fackler Williamson. On August 2, 1959, he married the former Sharon K. Helm in Trinity Lutheran Church in Convoy. Family survivors include his wife of fifty-four years; a daughter, Melanie Jane "Millie" (Lance) Clifton of rural Ohio City; a son, Michael Eugene "Mike" (Rebecca) Fackler of Van Wert; one brother, Richard (Ethel) Fackler of Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren, Chelsea (Ryan) Fair, Tyler Clifton, Calvin Fackler and Sydney Fackler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Fackler, Jr. Glenn was a repairman at International Harvester in Fort Wayne until 1986. He then worked at the Waste Water Treatment plant at Aeroquip (Eaton) in Van Wert, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert, Ohio. He was also a member of the National Rifleman's Association, Van Wert Lodge #213, F. & A.M., the Van Wert County Sheriff's Auxiliary and the Convoy Police Department. Glenn was widely known as he played bass guitar with Harmonica John. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. William Haggis officiating. Calling hours will be 9 - 11 a.m., on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to the State of Heart Hospice.
