Glen E. Hastings, 77, of Van Wert, passed away peacefully at his home at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was born on May 29, 1938 in Manchester Township, Indiana, the son of the late Charles A. and Zula (Bales) Hastings. He married the former Judy A. Davies on September 19, 1985, who survives. Other family members include his seven children, Beth (Darryl) Haney of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Ginger (Kenny) Hutcherson of Columbus, North Carolina, Lori (Danny) Harrington of Malden, Mass., Wendi Carter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kristy McBride of Jacksonville, Florida, Chuck Hastings of Lawerenceburg, Indiana, and Crystal Busch of Lima, Ohio; his sister-in-law and caregiver, Linda Bockrath of Delphos; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Bob and Jim Hastings; and a sister, Helen Busse. He was a graduate of Dearborn High School in Aurora, Indiana . Glen was retired from Goldshield Fiberglass in Decatur, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing and his dog Kipper. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date at Venedocia Cemetery. There will be calling one hour prior to the memorial service. Glen requested casual clothing for visitation and service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Family for help with funeral expenses.
