Floyd L. "Fly" Yaney, 76, of Van Wert and formerly of Celina, died at 9:55 a.m., Wednesday at his residence in Van Wert. He was born on November 15, 1938, in Hartford City, Indiana, the son of the late Job M. and Francis (Swartzkopf) Yaney. Family survivors include two daughters, Tammy Methot of Van Wert and Nicole Crowell of Coldwater; a son, Robert (Kathy) Yaney of Erastur; three brothers, Dean Yaney of Celina, Ronald Yaney of Celina and David Yaney; and six grandchildren. Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Beaver Chapel in Celina. He retired from New Idea in Coldwater with 45 years of service. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Calling hours will be 5 - 7 p.m., Friday. Interment will follow at a later date at Mercer Memory Gardens.
