Obituary

Floyd A. Lehman, 87, of Hoaglin Township, passed away at 2:34 p.m., Tuesday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on July 23, 1927, in Paulding County, the son of the late Elmer A. and Gertrude (Shafer) Lehman. On June 17, 1950, he married the former Clarabelle Kemler in the First Church of God and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Gary A. (Jody) Lehman of Oxford, Ohio, Dale R. (Judy) Lehman of Van Wert, and Dana B. (Balinda) Lehman of Summerville, SC; a sister, Donnabelle Clark of Scott; two sisters-in-law, Donna Lehman of Defiance and Wilma Lehman of Florida; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin, Donald and Elmer Aaron, Jr.; and two sisters, Naomi Taylor and Erma Tracy. Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a Military Policeman at Fort Lee, Virginia. He retired from Bordens Food with 31 years of service and drove bus for Lincolnview Local Schools. He was a member of the First Church of God, the American Legion Post 178, and the Van Wert County Farm Bureau. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014, at First Church of God in Van Wert with Pastor Jacob Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the combined honor guard of the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Van Wert. Calling hours are Friday 2 - 4 and 5 - 7 p.m., at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the Church. Preferred memorials are to the First Church of God or the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
