Evelyn May Rickard, 85, of Harrison Township, passed away at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday at the Van Wert County Hospital. She was born on April 23, 1929, in Lykens, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dewey Lawrence and Alma Lucille (Michener) Rickard. Family survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Marion D. (Barbara A.) Rickard of rural Convoy; five nephews and nieces, David Rickard of Convoy, Greg (Amber) Richard of Van Wert, Carolyn (Karl) Kill of Powell, Ohio, Rhonda Rickard of Tempe, AZ, and Charlene Rickard of Convoy; and five great nieces and nephews, Christopher Kill, Katie Kill, Paul, Steven and Mitchell Rickard. Evelyn was a graduate of Wren High School and the Fort Wayne Methodist Hospital, now Parkview, School of Nursing. She was a retired registered nurse having worked at the Van Wert County Hospital for 31 years. She was a former member of Spencerville Nazarene Church and member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert since 1994. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 - 7 p.m., on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Trinity Friends Church or the Crestview Knight Pride Club.
