Evelyn Louise Heath, 92, of Liberty Township, died peacefully at 3:14 p.m., Friday, surrounded by her family at the Inpatient Hospice Center. She as born on March 5, 1922, in York Township, the daughter of the late Howard Silas Miller and Grace C. Emerling. She married James Mounts Heath, Jr., on June 16, 1942, in Covington, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey T. "Squirt" Royer and her brother, John Thomas "Tom" Miller. Family survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Larry Royer of Convoy; one grandson, Jay (Sara) Royer also of Convoy; two great grandchildren, Colten and Saige Royer; three step great grandchildren, Morris, Tessa and Paul Kipfer; her grandson Jeff's widow, Linda Royer of Elida; two sisters-in-law, Roberta Miller of Van Wert and Muriel Heath of Sydney; also many special nieces and nephews as well as her dog Cocoa and seven kitties. Evelyn was a 1940 graduate of York High School. In November of 1962, she moved with her husband to Waldron, Michigan, where she worked as the office manager of Waldron Industries for 25 years, retiring in 1986. They then returned to the Van Wert area. She was an animal lover. One of her many interests was raising horses and miniature donkeys. She also enjoyed bird watching, genealogy, family history and antiques. Services with be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Leigh officiating. Interment will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery in Union Township, Mercer County. There is calling one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
