Eugene Allen "Gene" Salway, 54, of Dayton, passed away at 1:47 a.m., Monday, at the Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Van Wert on April 28, 1960, the son of Emma Marcile (Allmandinger) Salway of Ohio City and the late Harold Floyd Salway. Family survivors include his sister, Ellen M. (Jerry) Reigle of rural Ohio City; a brother, Dewayne N. (Kami) Salway of Willshire; two nieces, Andrea Benson of Cleveland and Cassandra Young of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and five nephews, Ross Salway of Charleston, West Virginia, Jay Salway of Charles, West Virginia, Prabhu Salway of Willshire, Ben Reigle of Ohio City, and Nick Reigle of Van Wert. Gene was a 1978 graduate of Parkway High School and a 1980 graduate of ITT of Dayton. He was a computer aided draftsman. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church at Schumm, with Rev. Jeffery L. Patterson officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Preferred memorials are to the Zion Lutheran Church.
