Elsie M. Stahr, 86, of Van Wert, died at 2:31 p.m., Saturday at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on April 4, 1929, in Hillsdale, Michigan, the daughter of the late Thomas I. and Ocie (Bollenbaugh) Miller. On October 8, 1955, she married Jack L. Stahr who survives. Other family survivors include her son, Steven J. Stahr of Philadelphia, PA, and several cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Max Miller and a sister, Patricia Leathers. Elsie had worked at Moores 5 & 10, United Telephone Company, and Hecks Department Store as a department manger. She enjoyed camping and fishing in Michigan. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 4 - 7 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the Council on Aging Transportation Program or the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
