Ellen Marie Edwards, 88, of Van Wert, passed away at 8:54 p.m., Saturday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on May 29, 1926, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Faith Mabel (Hittle) and Emerson James Sigler. On September 9, 1944, she married Donald Eugene Edwards who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1996. Family survivors include two sons, Lindsey (Virginia) Edwards of Markle, Indiana and Stanley (Tana) Edwards of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Lissa (Rick) Morton of Monroeville, Indiana; two sisters, Dorthy Louise Stahl and Carrol (Gary) Davis of Van Wert; one brother, Charles Rogers of Van Wert; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donis Ellen Smith and Jayme Lyn Edwards McIntosh; two brothers, John Gilbert Sigler and James L. Rogers; and two sisters, Lu Patsiavos and Leota Pearl "Tote" Foreman. Ellen was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Tissot officiating. Calling hours will also be at the Church on Tuesday evening, 5 - 7 p.m. Interment will be at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
