Eleanor Martha Cox, 84, of Tully Township, passed away at 1:28 p.m., Thursday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. She was born on March 10, 1930, in Decatur, Indiana, the daughter of the late William and Alma (Tewers) Goelz. On January 9, 1955, she married Paul Richard Cox who preceded her in death on February 24, 1983. Family survivors include her two sons, Brian R. Cox of Convoy and Scott A. (Stephanie) Cox of Decatur, Indiana; one brother, Herbert (Dorothy) Goelz of Hoagland, Indiana; two sisters, Marjorie Armstrong of Columbia City, IN and WillaMae (Walter) Stafford of Fort Wayne; and two sisters-in-law, Winnie Goelz of Indianapolis and Miriam Goelz of Monroeville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Danny Goelz and two sisters, Velma McDonald and Katherine Goelz. Eleanor was a graduate of Decatur High School and a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in America. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating. Interment will follow at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 1 - 6 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Monday. Preferred memorials are to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center or the donor's choice.
