Elaine K. Deaton, 68, of Van Wert, passed away at 5:05 p.m., Wednesday at the VanCrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She was born on April 19, 1947, in Columbus, the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred Sudman. Family survivors include her two sons, Rich W. (Sheri) Kline and Kurt A. (Angie) Kline, all of Ohio City; a brother, William "Bill" Sudman of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Grace and Olivia Kline, and Kory and Kirsten Kline; two step grandchildren, Stephen and Lucas Sullivan; and two nieces, Kelly "Dee" Nuding of Celina and Kristen Sudman of Mendon. Elaine was a 1965 graduate of New Knoxville High School and retired from GKN Sinter Metals in Van Wert. Private services will be held at a later date. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
