Dorothy Louise O'Daffer, 93, of Middle Point, died at 5:36 p.m., Monday at the Van Wert Manor Nursing Home. She was born on November 2, 1921, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Otto and Bessie Mae (Cattell) Hoverman. On March 23, 1941, she married Carl Dewayne O'Daffer who preceded her in death on January 30, 1994. She was also preceded in death by two children, Robert Eugene O'Daffer and Carolyn L. Hamm, and two brothers, Doyt R. Hoverman and Lawrence E. Hoverman. Family survivors include three sons, Orley D. (Mary) O'Daffer of Van Wert, Albert L. (Trudy) O'Daffer of Middle Point, and Rick L. (Doreen) O'Daffer of Columbus; two daughters, Jean A. O'Daffer and Tammy Barr both of Middle Point; eleven grandchildren, Beth Magg, Cameron Shanner, Gregg Hamm, Brian O'Daffer, Mark O'Daffer, Nancy Adcock, Elizabeth Mora, Robbert O'Daffer, Colleen Locher, Ryan O'Daffer, and Jason Barr; fourteen great grandchildren; and special friend, Sherry Friedrich of Middle Point. Mrs. O'Daffer was a homemaker and had attended the former Middle Point United Presbyterian Church and its women's group. He also had been a member of the Middle Point Fire Department Auxiliary. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2015, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 3 - 8 at the Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center , Middle Point Fire Department, or Van Wert Manor Activity Fund.
