Donna Joy Horn, 80, of Van Wert passed away at 2:20 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017, at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert. She was born on June 8, 1936, in Richmond, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Leroy and Madrue (Neikirk) Bruner. She was married to Winfred Dunaway, Jr., then Othia P. Horn who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rosemary Turpin, Adora Brandenburg, and Wanda Horn; a brother, Donald Bruner in infancy; and a niece, Kathy Parsons. Family survivors include four daughters, Dolores A. (William) Foreman of Van Wert, Lisa K. (Edward) Eichler of Van Wert, Theresa (Mark) Adkins of Scott, and Donna Lee (Matthew) Kreate of Ross, Ohio; three special nieces, Kimberly Hill, Linda Rogers and Kay Stapp; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Donna had been a society editor at the Times-Bulletin and a reporter at the Delphos Herald. She enjoyed the Council of Aging activities and was a past member of the Van Wert County Hospital TWIG. She was also a founding member of the Parents Without Partners in Van Wert. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Burns of Liberty Baptist Church officiating. There will be calling hours Wednesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Civic Theater.
