Dolores Rice Jerome, 94, died at 2:35 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, in her home in Kettering, Ohio. She was born on January 5, 1920, in Mendon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harriet (Goodwin) and Otley Rice. On August 2, 1941, she married Byron Max Jerome. Dolores retired as a Procurement Agent after 36 years from the Defense Electronics Supply Center. She was also an active member of The League of Women Voters, the Business and Professional Women's Club and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE). Dolores graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wright State University in Dayton in 1987. She is survived by her son, Jeff Jerome of Northampton, MA; her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Terry Gressner of Kettering; two grandchildren, Keith A. Gressner and Cindi (Tim) McGlone; and great granddaughter, Shenna McGlone. She was preceded in death by her husband Byron Max Jerome on December 16, 2009; two brothers, Willis Rice and Marvin Rice; and two sisters, Martha Harden and Helen Taylor. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2014, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Goodwin Cemetery in York Township, Van Wert County, Ohio.
