David L. Coon, 77, of Van Wert passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on August 21, 1948, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Otis Junior Coon and Elizabeth Jean “Betty” (McGrew) Tribolet.

David is survived by a sister, Judy (Dennis) Murray of Frankfort, Michigan.

He was a 1967 graduate of Van Wert High School and a VIet Nam veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked as the general manager at the Buick Dealership in Cincinnati, Ohio.

There will be no services or viewing at this time and he will be laid to rest at the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio at a later date.
