Daniel Lynn Boroff, 62, of rural Van Wert, died at 3:40 p.m., Wednesday at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on June 23, 1950, in Paulding County, the son of Loy and Wilma (Rau) Boroff. Mrs. Boroff survives in Defiance. On April 8, 1978, he married the former Mary Alice Jones also surviving. Other family members are two daughters, Amanda M. Maple of Van Wert and Erin (Brendan) Coughlan of Sidney; four grandchildren Austin and Braden Maple and Madelyn and Liam Coughlan; one brother, Tom Boroff of Oakwood; and one sister, Janet Holbrooks of Oakwood. Daniel was employed at Setex Inc., of St. Marys. He was a graduate of Oakwood High School and a U.S. Army veteran. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 346 of Ohio City. Calling will be held Sunday 1 - 6 p.m. Preferred memorials are to Gideons International or for Daniel's Grandchildren.
