Obituary

Dana Jay Nofer, 45, of Convoy, died at 11 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, on Willshire-Ohio City Road in Liberty Township. His life was cut short by a tragic accident. He was born August 45, 1967, in Van Wert, the son of the late Robert Charles and Dixie Lee (Myers) Nofer who survives in rural Ohio City. Other family survivors include a son, Benjamin C.J. Nofer, at home; his grandmother, Irene H. Myers, of rural Ohio City; three uncles, Thomas (Nyletta) Nover of rural Ohio City, William Nofer of Farmdale, Ohio, and William Allen Myers of Convoy; an aunt, Joyce Ann McNeeley of Wilmington, Ohio; and six cousins. Dana was a member of Kingdom Hall of Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Decatur, IN and a 1985 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty Vantage High School Dana lived life each day with love, laughter and hard work. He was a friend to anyone in need. He worked side by side with his father and assumed operation of Farmall Farms when his father died. He had just began to have his son Ben step into the farming operation. They had spent the day together getting equipment ready for planting. He loved family and farming. He had a heart as big as the moon and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Randy Melching officiating. Calling hours are from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
