Corrine Ann Snyder-Poulson, 87, of rural Edgerton, died at 4:33 p.m., Tuesday at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on January 19, 1926, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Fred N. And Martha Ann (Swander) Straley. She married Gerald Lloyd Snyder in 1948, who passed away on March 16, 2006. She then married David L. Poulson who survives in Edgerton. Other family members include her six children, Barbara (Daniel) Everidge of Ohio City, Jerry (Peggy) Snyder of Ohio City, Jack (Deborah) Snyder of Ohio City, Norma (Dean) Schweizer of Celina, Nancy (Karl) Hans of Churubusco, IN, and Margaret (Mike) Fetcho of Holland, OH; six step children, Peggy (Tonny) Lucas of Bryan, OH, Barbara (Duane) Landfeld of Woodsfield, OH, Paul (Debra) Poulson of Iron Mountain, MI, Mark (Carol) Poulson of Ney, OH, John (Lexie) Poulson of Archbold, OH, and Thomas (Sara) Poulson of Johnstown, OH; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Straley, Albert Straley and Virgil in childhood; a sister, Grace McGee; one grandchild; and three great grandchildren. Corrine was a 1942 graduate of Hoaglin-Jackson High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Ohio State University and her Masters Degree from Wright State University. She was a retired music teacher in Wren and Crestview Schools for a total of 23 years and also taught private piano lessons at Turner Music Store for a number of years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, was director of the hand bell choir and sang in the choir. She was recently attending the Farmer United Methodist Church. She enjoyed many crafts including spinning, knitting, weaving, pottery and fiber art. She was a member of the board of Van Wert Community Concert Association, member of Wren Historical Society, and volunteered in the art department at Crestview Schools. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the Farmer United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert. Calling hours will be Friday 5 - 7 p.m., at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the Church. Interment will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday at Green Park Cemetery in Portland, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to the Wren E.M.S., Hicksville E.M.S., First Presbyterian Church Music Fund, or the Farmer United Methodist Church Music Fund.
