Connie JoAnne Boley Painter, age 54 of Sarasota, Fl and formerly of Van Wert, OH. passed away May 3, 2016 at the Tidewell Hospice House. She was born on April 23, 1962, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of the late Kenneth Boley and Mary Alice Boley who survives in Nixa, Missouri. She is also survived by her husband Rex Painter of Sarasota, FL; two brothers, Dale (Lolly) Boley of Van Wert and Delmer Hogan of Toledo; three sisters, Rose Gephart of Marion, Ohio, Katherine (Darren) Anstead of Nixa, MO, and Esther (Ron) Stein of Woolstock, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Connie graduated from Van Wert High School and Vantage Career Center in 1980 and attended the University of Toledo. She previously owned Swan Memorials in Van Wert. She served on the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce and the Main Street Van Wert boards. Connie's love of art and the beauty of nature inspired her to create many beautiful things. She loved travel proudly visiting 47 states and 8 countries. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., May 20, 2016 at the Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating. There will be a time of calling from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Preferred memorials are to the Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, FL, the American Lung Association, or the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
