Colleen Cook, 85, formerly of Decatur, died at 6:56 p.m., Saturday at The Village of Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana. She was born on January 26, 1928, in Grover Hill, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ray and Rosella (Harpster) Elston. She had been married to Carl E. Cook who died on Nov. 14, 2002. Family survivors include two sons, Darl W. (Debbie Long) Cook of Van Wert and Mark A. (Gwen) Cook of Convoy; three grandchildren, Joshua A., Jacob M. and Jessica N. Cook; three sisters, Lois (Kenneth) Kohn, Jr., of Dublin, OH, Eileen Thomas of Paulding, and Rosalie (Roger) McClure of Grover Hill; two brothers, Don (Dessie) Elston of Grover Hill and Gary W. (Cathy) Elston of Montgomery, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Orpha Elston. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Randy M. Elston. Colleen was a 1946 graduate of Grover Hill High School and a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert with Rev. Amy Covington officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Creek Cemetery near Grover Hill. Calling hours are Thursday 3 - 7 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the Family Life Care in Berne, IN.
