Chris A. Skinner, 61, of rural Van Wert, died at 6:30 p.m., Friday, at Van Wert County Hospital. He was born on July 5, 1954, in Riverside California, the son of the late James Albert and Marian Linn (Kelley) Skinner. On December 18, 1999, he married the former Cindy K. Sutton who survives. Other family members include a step-daughter, Elizabeth (Shannon) Williams of Marion, Indian; and a sister, Shaune M. Skinner of Columbus. Chris' greatest joy were his two grandsons, Krystyan and Levi, and they loved their "Papaw", always greeting him with hugs. Chris was a 1972 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and attended Purdue University. He was a self-employed contractor - carpenter and was affiliated with St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ohio City. There will be private services at the convenience of the family. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert County Humane Society.
