Charlotte E. Morgan, 87, of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. Charlotte was born in Van Wert, Ohio on September 17, 1926, daughter of the late Don S and Gertrude Mae (Tomlinson) Black, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Pleasant School and was a 1944 graduate of Ridge high school. During her long residence in the Van Wert area she had been employed as an office worker at Central Mutual Insurance Company and National Seal in Van Wert. On Oct. 12, 1947 Charlotte married Gordon T. Morgan at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, Ohio. Charlotte was devoted to her family and was a caring person who had a positive effect on many others. Charlotte will be sadly missed by her husband, Gordon; son, Thomas and brother, Dean (Diane) Black of Lakewood, Colorado and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by longtime dear friends, Jo and Dick Kirkendall of Van Wert and Helen Stahl of Fort Myers, Florida. A brother, Fred Black, preceded her in death. A grave side service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. There will be no viewing or funeral service per Charlotte?s request.
