Charles L. Halliwill, 76, of Scott, died at 1:20 p.m., Friday at the St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. He was born on January 18, 1938, in Celina, the son of the late Gaylord and Marcille (Park) Halliwill. He is also preceded in death by his step-mother, Kathryn Beams and a sister, June Bechtol. On October 3, 1993, he married the former Patsy Carr who survives in Scott. Other family survivors include four children, Tonica (Scott) Harvey of Tennessee, Jeff (Angel) Halliwill of Paulding, Teresa Halliwill of Hedges, and Kevin Halliwill of Scott; two step children, Stephen Etzler of Scott and Rebecca Etzler of Van Wert; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the General Motors Foundry in Defiance. He enjoyed NASCAR, western movies and visiting with his neighbors. There will be private family arrangements at a later time.
