Cecile Marie O'Daffer, 98, of Middle Point, died at 4 p.m., Saturday, shortly after arrival at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born on May 27, 1916, in Auglaize County, the daughter of the late Melbourne and Nettie (Warmon) Overley. On February 15, 1936, she married William O'Daffer who preceded her in death in 1974. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Paxton; one brother, Willard Overley; and two sisters, Aletha Knous and Erma Harris. Family survivors include her son, Ray O'Daffer of Middle Point; daughter, Rosemaire Paxton of Cecil; a grandson, Ron (Myrna) Paxton of Cecile; and a sister, Irene Jolly of Celina. Cecile had been a cook at VanDel School and Whistle Stop Restaurant. She enjoyed square dancing, sharing stories and baking goodies for her family. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4 - 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
