Carolyn Ann Placke, 64, of Van Wert, passed away at 1:15 a.m., Friday at the VanCrest Health Care Center. She was born on November 22, 1948, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Carl C. and Donna (Rice) McCoy. She married Stephen F. Placke on August 31, 1974, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2011. Family survivors include two daughters, Ana S. (Joseph) Lace of Atlanta, GA, and Monica (James Francis) Placke of Van Wert; one son, Kyle Placke of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Haylie R. Placke, Alanna M. Francis and Aaron J. Francis; and a great granddaughter, Sophia Butler. Besides her parents and husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, Joe McCoy and sister Barbara Jean McCoy. She had worked at Federal Mogul and Thomas Edison Adult Education and also ministered with her husband at the Vineyard Fellowship. There will be calling hours on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, 1 - 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., all at Cowan & Son Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to the Family.
