Carol Sue (Brown) Decker, 61, of Van Wert, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born November 24, 1951, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Kenneth Eugene and Esther Leila (Bashore) Brown. On May 31, 1980, she married Howard D. Decker, who survives in Van Wert. Other survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Ann; one brother, John Gordon (Roberta) Brown of Rockford; two nieces and a nephew. Carol worked at the Thomas Edison Workshop for a number of years and was a 1971 graduate of Lincolnview High School. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Lance Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County. Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the funeral home.
