Bill Dean Kirchenbauer, 87 of Celina, Ohio, died at 6:26 p.m., Saturday September 3, 2016 at the C.H.P.- Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio. He was born on December 29, 1928 in Wren, Ohio, the son of the late Harold and Minnie Bernice (Allen) Kirchenbauer. On November 29, 1947, he married Martha Jane (Eyanson) Kirchenbauer, who preceded him in death on May 4, 2014. Bill retired in 1985 from the former Continental Can Company (Grief Brothers). He was life member of the VFW Post 5803 of Van Wert, life member of the American Legion Post #178 of Van Wert, member of the Celina Eagles Club, Elk's Club member of Ruskin, FL, served on the Ohio City Vol. Fire Department, the Ohio City Village Council and the Ohio City Sanitation & Engineer Department, Moose Club member in Ruskin, FL, was a 32nd degree Mason and was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII. Family survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Don) Mottinger of Ohio City; three grandchildren, Dewayne (Amanda) Mottinger and Dana Mottinger, both of Ohio City, and Denice (Jon) Ringler of Paulding; and Great-Grandchildren, Mallory & Marissa Mottinger and Austen Joseph. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ervin "Bud" Kirchenbauer. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 11:00 a.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Paul W. Miller. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, 2-6 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio, with military honors by the combined units of the V.F.W. and American Legion, both of Van Wert, Ohio. Memorial contribution to the C.H.P.-Inpatient Hospice Center.
