Beverly Ann DeCamp, 82, of Van Wert, went home to be with her Lord at 4:05 a.m., Monday at the Sarah Jane Living Center in Delphos. She was born on August 26, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Darle Aurelius and Cecile Luella (Bevington) Brown. On January 17, 1954, she married Floyd L. DeCamp who survives. Other family members include her three daughters, Brenda L. (Ron) Staker of Van Wert, Cheryl L. (Michael) Finnegan of Wapakoneta, and Diane (David) Uncapher of Lima; nine grandchildren, Michael Breece, Justin (Jen) Breece, Seth (Becky) Finnegan, Cody (Erica) Finnegan, Adam (Jill) Finnegan, Zachary (Sarah) Uncapher, Lucas (Amanda Staas) Uncapher, Tessa (Greg) Boyles, and Canon Uncapher; eleven great grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Brown of Van Wert. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son at birth, Johnny Robert, and a grandson, Jordan Uncapher. Bev was a 1952 graduate of Van Wert High School and attended First Baptist Church in Van Wert. She had worked as a dental hygienist, a bookkeeper, a teacher at Calvary Nursery School, and 22 years at Van Wert County Hospital. She also operated a craft business named Grans Beary Patch. She was a published poet, writing over 200 poems. She especially enjoyed writing poems for birthdays, weddings and for all her family. Bev loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was affectionately known as "Gran". Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastors Steve A. Robinson and Dale McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 3 - 8 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Friday. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
