Ashley Marie Baker, 26, of Van Wert, died at 10:50 p.m., Monday at the Van Wert County Hospital. She was born on August 13, 1988, in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Lisa L. Baker of Middle Point and the late Donald Glen Grogg-Peters. She was also preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandfathers, an aunt, and a cousin. She is survived by her maternal grandmother, Shirley Kacain of Mantino, Illinois; two sisters, Danielle Roberts and Amber Baker both of Van Wert; her fiancé, Nathaniel Thomas of Van Wert; many aunts and uncles including Uncle Jason (Tina) Grogg of Mendon; three nieces and two nephews who she dearly loved. Ashley was a 2006 graduate of Van Wert High School. Though she didn't attend church, she knew the Lord as her Savior. There will be a memorial service at 6 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Van Wert.
