Alice B. Kreischer, 90, of Van Wert, died at 7 p.m., Thursday at the VanCrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She was born on November 18, 1923, in Rudersburg, Germany, the daughter of the late Gustav Freidrich and Emilie Auguste (Seibold) Ehman. On May 30, 1946, she married Norman Kreischer, Jr., who died on December 22, 2000. Family survivors include three daughters, Sharon K. (Thomas) Short of Van Wert, Marcia L. Goings of Convoy, and Karen (James) Fleagle of Van Wert; one son, Kelly (Connie) Kreischer of Van Wert; a niece, Emilie Werts of Convoy; eighteen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Kurt Ehman and a granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Baker. Mrs. Kreischer was a member of the former St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Van Wert. She was a homemaker and had worked at Federal Mogul in Van Wert. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Washington Township. Calling hours are 12 noon to 2 p.m., Monday prior to the services. Preferred memorial are to Hospice.
