Tootie Allen Obituary

Thelma Mae "Tootie" Allen, 84, of Ohio City, died at 8:45 a.m., Sunday at the Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford.

She was born on October 24, 1929, Ohio City, the daughter of the late Peter W. and Loretta Louetta (Rayer) Wiseman. On June 19, 1968, she married Morrel Groom "Chum" Allen who also preceded her in death on June 17, 2014.

Surviving are one son, Phil Simindinger of Ohio City; a step-daughter, Nancy J. (Kurt R.) Muntzinger of Van Wert; two step-sons, Randy Allen of Missouri City, Texas and Rick L. Allen of Van Wert; six grandchildren, Andy J. Berelsman, Heather Simindinger, Jason Allen, Jennifer Allen, Christopher Allen, and Amber Walters; and two great granddaughters, Adele and Eleanor Berelsman.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Wiseman, Waldo Wiseman, Robert Wiseman, and Lloyd F. "Bud" Wiseman; and three sisters, Emma Lou Myers, Marcile Edna McDougal, and Helen P. Shinaberry.

Tootie was a 1947 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohio City.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Denise Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 4 - 7 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to the Colonial Nursing Home.
