Ruth M. Fifer

Ruth M. Fifer, 81, of Convoy, Ohio, fell asleep in death on November 2, 2019, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home under the care of  Elara Care Hospice.

She was born on March 8, 1938, in Paulding County, Ohio to the late Michael and Susan (Hammons) Halter.

Ruth was a member of Van Wert Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She spent many hours declaring the Good News of God’s Kingdom to many. She always loved to volunteer on many projects at the Kingdom Hall. Secularly she retired from the Convoy Family Market.

Family survivors include: two sons, Thomas A. (Linda) Fifer of Decatur, Indiana, Michael A. (Donna) Fifer of Convoy, Ohio; one daughter Susann (Paul) Mitchener of Convoy, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jason Fifer, Heather Busby, Shaunda Fifer, Ryan Fifer, Dakota Mitchener and McKenna Mitchener; and one great granddaughter, Hadley Busby.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh N. Fifer; and seven siblings: Alvin Halter, Forrest Halter, Mary (Halter) Beair, Velma (Halter) Sharp, Meana (Halter) Taylor, Murlen Halter, and Leroy Halter.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Cowan & Son Funeral Home officiated by Brother Lyman Winegardner. Visitation is scheduled from 1 - 3 pm Saturday before services. Interment is at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
