Pauline A. Custer

Pauline Annabelle Custer, 96, of rural Convoy, passed away at 9:05 a.m., Monday, at Vancrest of Payne.

She was born on December 31, 1923, in Tully Township, the daughter of late Walter L. and Lena H. (McNeal) Cox. On June 13, 1948, she married Hubert Ellis “Bud” Custer who preceded her in death on June 23, 1967.

Family survivors include her son, Craig (Debra) Custer of Elkhart, Indiana; three daughters, Mona Hicks of Fort Wayne, Jane (Warren) Fisher of Forest, Ohio, and Kathleen (Wendell) Fisher of New Holland, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Aaron Custer, Paige Palmer, Paula Bengel, Elizabeth Fisher, Gideon Fisher, Isaac Fisher, Hannah Fisher, and Bethany Fisher; four step grandchildren, Kelly, Pat, Byron and Joe Hicks; and five great grandchildren, Sadie, Lillie, Lena, Claire and Caleb.

Besides her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Cox, Walter Merle Cox and her twin brother, Paul Richard Cox; a sister, Helen Cox; a great grand daughter, Emmy Palmer and a son-in-law, Kenneth Hicks.

Pauline was a graduate of Convoy High School and a member Sugar Ridge Church of God - formerly Convoy United Brethren. She had held positions on the church board, Sunday school teacher, custodian, and secretary of the Women’s Missionary Fellowship. She had also served on the Board of Elections. She was a homemaker and loved the Lord and her family. She enjoyed sports, gardening and cooking.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2020, at Sugar Ridge Church of God  Deacon Gideon Fisher and Paige Palmer officiating. The Church is located at 124 N. Liberty Street in Convoy. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 9 - 11 a.m., Friday at the Church.

Preferred memorials are to Sugar Ridge Church of God.
